Teen Pregnancy and Sexual Health Working Group
The Teenage Pregnancy and Sexual Health Working Party is a cross-border interest group that has been meeting regularly since early 2005. The group is multi-sector, and brings together state and local government, health and youth agencies, education providers and young people. Meetings are held during the last week of the month and act as a forum for information sharing, guest speakers, brainstorming, discussion of issues and the development of partnership projects. The ?Connecting Young Parents? project builds on the work of the Teenage Pregnancy and Sexual Health Working Party, with a focus on pregnanct and parenting teens. This project has the active support of Working Party members and has received federal funding until April 2008 from FACSIA.
The overall goals of the Connecting Young Parents project are to o Expand service provision for young parents o Connect young parents with local services o Strengthen the parenting skills of young parents o Develop social networks for young parents o Link young parents into further education
