Current Projects and Inititatives occurring in Upper Hume
The following is an overview of current projects or initiatives in the Upper Hume catchment:
Current PCP initiatives
- Problem Gambling - funded by Department of Justice for 3 years to work collaboratively in health promotion.
- Volunteering - Way to Go - completed in December 2008
- Equity Project - ongoing focus for the partnership. See Making Two Worlds Work
Other initiatives making a difference in our area
- Food For All - a partnership of organisations funded and community based,working to establish a system of food distribution and to ensure secure food security for people who access emergency relief.
- No Wrong Door - a Commonwealth funded 3 year project working across the Hume region to improve access and support for people with a mental health issue.

Problem Gambling Funded by Department of Justice for 3 years ($10,000 p/a) to work collaboratively in health promotion to
Volunteering Way to Go : This project is funded for 2 years through Department for Victorian Communities to the total of $150,000. The aim is to build a joint approach in the capacity of our organisations to support and engage volunteers. This includes the development and training in the use of a generic organisation Toolkit for Volunteer Managers. Lead organisation:Albury Wodonga Volunteer Resource Bureau, project officer Jemma Toohey . Start: October 2006. End: December 2008 UHPCP QIPPS record.
Equity Project Developing the capacity of the services to work with and recognise equity issues in the planning and delivery of services. Next workshop – April 29th. Lead Organisation: Women’s Health Goulburn North East. UHPCP QIPPS record.
